Footloose
Posted on April 19th, 2008 at 9:14 pm by room02 and

Finally the day came for us to go to Selwyn College to see the coolest production performed by Selwyn College students FOOTLOOSE! The students that performed in it they were amazing actors and actresses! Because it started off as a boy called “REN,”he was living in California, America and got all the way to “BERMONE” where you were not allowed to dance because the Priest of “BERMONE” lost his son in an car accident because his son went out with a bunch of friends and they had gone clubbing  so the Priest banned dancing in BERMONE. Because of that situation everyone in BERMONE were not allowed to dance and they sang a song about people watching you every where you go.

Term One Ends…HOLIDAYS BEGIN
Posted on April 17th, 2008 at 4:12 pm by room02 and

Can you believe it that we have finished a quarter of 2008 already? The term has flown by, with highlights such as Waterwise - kayaking and sailing, and Camp Hunua.

Everyone has worked very hard and we have developed a strong class team.  Our teacher thinks we all deserve a break and we should have a restful and relaxing two weeks of holidays.

Have fun, take care and travel safe and we’ll see everyone back again on Monday 5 May.

Awesome Assembly
Posted on April 14th, 2008 at 1:50 am by room02 and

Room 2 did the coolest assembly item and had the whole school cracking up with laughter, Mrs Slater was laughing so much that she was crying!

There were some really amazing girls who used their stunning voices to record a song onto garageband of the ‘12 days of Camp’ - sung to the tune of the ‘12 days of Christmas’.

Each time there was a different line in the song there was a new group of children who would come onto the stage and act out the line.

It was hilarious when one of our boys dressed up as a lady, and he even wore high heels and a wig - he sure had the audience in stiches of laughter.

Some children even dressed up as the teachers that had gone on camp. Isabelle was dressed up as Mr Mac and she had really clever facial expressions, and a costume which included chocolate bars and ginger beer. Hopefully Mr Mac thought that it was funny and was offended. Renei was funny as Miss Gibson because she even had her wrist brace on and it really looked like she was actually Miss G. Beau looks like he might be the new Mr Hurlow - and the funniest thing was that on the day the real Mr Hurlow was actually wearing exactly the same outfit as what Beau had dressed up in. Emily was a crazy Mrs Cameron with her red ‘guitar’, it was great to be able to remember the super time we’d had with Mrs Cameron at camp singing song with us on the first night. Felicity was walking around with a clip-board, looking very official like Mrs Bridgeman.

At the end we showed a slideshow of loads of photos to share our super camp memories with the rest of the school.

We were pretty proud of our efforts at assembly, especially considering that we only had 2 days to prepare then present it.

The ending of a Sir Ed afternoon
Posted on April 12th, 2008 at 10:41 pm by room02 and

On Saturday the 12th of April, five girls from Yr 5&6 went to the ‘Summits for Ed’ at One Tree Hill. We were very lucky with the weather and it turned out to be a great success. There were 1000`s of people there and there was some fantastic rocks to go to a memorial at Tongariro. I`m sure every-body from V.A.S enjoyed it and I hope NZ remembers Sir Edmund Hillary for what he did and his work in Nepal!….. We will miss you!

Never Fear Sir Ed Is Still Here!!!
Posted on April 10th, 2008 at 4:43 pm by room02 and

Sir Ed’s passing was one of the worlds saddest, but he is still here in our hearts. His humanitarian work was amazing. He helped build homes and schools in Nepal. His wife and daughter died in a plane crash coming to see him in Nepal. Sir Ed also climbed the Himalayers as well as Mt Cook (in NZ). When the queen heard that Edmund Hillary had Climbed Everest when she was 27.

What we are learning in I.C.T.
Posted on April 10th, 2008 at 4:37 pm by room02 and

In I.C.T we are learning to create blogs. We are learning to write posts to and save them onto our blog. We are trying to put as many as we can onto our room 2 blog. We also have to know how to log into the blog. We are learning to lots of the the things that you can on our blog and especially how to create a post and also how to write comments on other peoples posts that are saved onto the blog. We are trying to ask people in our family to look at our blog and leave comments on them so its not just people from room 2 leaving the comments. We need to know all these things if we want to have a blog. We have to make sure we keep it updated with all the things we do in our class or other wise our blog will get very boring. But I know we will.

Rubbish pollution hits VAS!!!
Posted on April 10th, 2008 at 4:35 pm by room02 and

Victoria Avenue has increased their pollution levels because of the bins overflowing, from untouched foods made by parents or caregivers! The solution to the problem means by increasing the lunch bell from 12:30-12:45 instead of 12:40. Their is now class room Teachers checking and making sure that you finished your lunch, so watch out!!
